Are you one of the 24 million Americans who are diabetic? If not, you probably know someone who is. Many diabetics have extra testing strips that go to waste each month. There is a simple to use website that will actually buy these strips! It’s called Paid4Strips.com.
If you are not diabetic – send an email to the site at earn@paid4strips.com – they will send you a referral # that you can give to your clients to use… if your client sells their strips to the site you will get $10 and there is no limit to the number of clients you can refer! My referral # is 6417 – please use this # if you sell your strips on the site…
How do you get clients to Paid4Strips.com?
- Post a link on your blog
- Make fliers and post them at local businesses (laundromats are great places to leave fliers)
- Post an ad on local websites
Hope this post gives you some ideas on how to make money with Paid4Strips.com!
For the past few months I have been posting a link to my eBay products on Twitter… simply copy your item URL.. then use a URL shortener like Tinyurl.com – to reduce the length of the URL. Go to your Twitter account and give a brief description of the item and paste your Tinyurl link. If you have a counter on your eBay listing – you will actually see the hits accumulate just moments after you post your Tweet.
I thought this was happening because I have a few thousand Twitter followers and assumed it was my followers checking out my items. However, my wife has only a handful of followers and posts links to her products on Etsy. She is experiencing high hit counts as well with basically no followers. Obviously Google or another search engine is picking up these Tweets (and quickly to!). My advice: start a Twitter account to post your products… don’t even worry about accumulating followers!!
I’ve been selling books successfully on Amazon for over a year now and have just had my eyes open to the exciting possibilities of “Fulfillment by Amazon” or FBA. In a nutshell, FBA is a program where you send your books to Amazon and they store and ship them for you. The cool thing about the program is that the books in FBA appear at the top of all Amazon listings and the possibility that you can actually profit with penny books!
If you want to learn how to do this, check out the ebook Selling on Amazon’s FBA Program by Nathan Holmquist.
For people looking for an easy and inexpensive way to start making money online, eHow can be a good place to start. If you are already running an online business, eHow can give you added free exposure. eHow is pretty simple to use.
Just open and account and start writing about any topic you know about or have an interest in. Pick good keywords and tags and over a couple of months you will begin to accumulate some revenue.
There are various forums and articles on eHow on how to best monetize your articles. I’m still learning but I did realize that it takes about 2 months for your articles to start to produce income. There are a couple of other things you can do in addition to writing articles to increase your exposure.
- Twitter / Facebook – start a Twitter and/or Facebook account and add a link to your eHow profile. You can also link to individual articles.
- eHow friends – eHow has a friends feature… it’s pretty simple: you see a persons picture, click on it, and click “add as a friend” on the left side. The eHow writer has to approve you, but they almost always do. If you build up a friends list, you can read your “friends” articles, comment on them, and even recommend them. If you do this, your “friends” will often return the favor to you, adding to your exposure and money making potential.
- Search eHow articles. If you have an idea for an eHow article, search the eHow database to make sure that you won’t have a ton of competition. You want to write articles that people have an interest in, but you don’t want to have your article buried behind hundreds of others on the same subject.
I hope this gives you some help with getting started with eHow and I will keep you updated on my progress and discoveries… here is my eHow profile link.
One of the keys to growing your Twitter following (and thus potential customers) is by providing good and consistent content. Two of the main problems with developing good content is
- Finding it
- Logging on to Twitter to post it
If you post your content at the same time everyday.. or even within the same 8 hr time frame or so, you are going to be missing out of tons of potential Twitterers who are not logged on.
A simple solution: Twitterfeed.com – it’s free and you can set it to automatically generate content for you around the clock! All you do is sign up, connect to your Twitter accound and set up feeds that are easy to find on various readers.. such as Google Reader or even through some email providers.

I wrote an article for people intested in selling books on Amazon or who do sell books on Amazon.. I make pretty good money doing this. Here are some guidelines I go by for pricing :
How to price books to sell on Amazon (eHow article)
I just read an interesting ebook about selling and flipping used cell phones on eBay call “Cell Phone on eBay”. It’s a good idea and one that I’ve looked into before. This ebook opened my eyes to a few ideas though – if you want to check it out it is part of the “bonus pool” in the “My Silent Team” membership site.
I have a few ideas in addition to what is in the ebook…
- Craigslist is a great place to look for used cell phones.. just type in “cell phone” in a search and you will get a ton of results.
- Research the prices on eBay.
- Find a decent phone at a decent price on CL and even offer a lower price.
This is one of the best blogs I’ve read about the upcoming eBay changes that are going to have negative effects on most eBay sellers (excerpt from “The Multichannel Surfer” Click HERE for complete blog)
eBay has rolled out the second big installment of changes for 2009. I am not going to go into detail on each part, other sites have covered the new changes already. I would like to point out a couple points that stood out to me. First, let me say, eBay is continuing their drive toward a more sterile, consistent site. They are still moving away from the zany days of toasted cheese sandwiches with an image of Mary. No eBay Live! with crazy hats, buttons, and pins. eBay wants mass produced products on the site. They want big sellers that deliver a consistent shopping experience.
I could just imagine eBay executives cringing last week when a woman put the opportunity to name her baby up for auction. The auction made national news when it was repeatedly shut down by eBay for technical violations. The lady lost her high bidder of $15K, but kept trying. eBay doesn’t want that kind of item listed nowadays. New policies will make it even harder for unique, small sellers. In October, the first phases will go into effect. In the Spring of 2010, I predict people will be leaving eBay in droves – and not by their own choice.
I just wrote an article “how to use Twitter to advertise your local business for free“. It’s pretty easy to do and can be a great way to advertise your business for free! Most people know that Twitter is a good place to promote your website or ebusiness, but there are a couple ways to promote a local business such as a restaurant or bar. You can also use Twitter to advertise your local service business, such as:
- Cleaning business
- Landscaping
- Hair studio
- Painting
- Construction / remodeling
- Real estate company
- Pressure washing
- Insurance
- and countless more!
Check out the article and let me know what you think!
